A wether is a neutered male goat. They make great pets because they won't develop the smell or aggressiveness found in intact bucks. They also tend to be less expensive to keep than a doe because they eat less grain. In addition to being great companion animals, wethers do an excellent job of land clearing—eating brush, bramble and low-hanging branches.
